Delivery and In-Store Pickup

What days do you offer in store pick-up?
We offer in store pickup Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
What days do you deliver?
We deliver every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Orders can arrive any time between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
How much does shipping cost?
$10.00 plus $.40/km
How much time does it take to ship the order?
We offer delivery Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please check delivery availability before creating an order to ensure a delivery slot. Add one product to cart, select delivery to see available dates.
Can I change my delivery address?
You can email Email us Emails Email us on shop@thebigcarrot.ca. This email is not monitored 24hrs a day and is not an immediate means of communication.
Where do I pick-up my in-store order?
Orders can be picked up at the Danforth Community Market main entrance/door, just inside the Carrot Common courtyard. You will need to tell a staff member at our Information desk your name and order # and we will bring your bagged items out in a shopping cart.
Is there a cut-off time for deliveries?
Deliveries must be placed no later than 4 p.m. the day before you plan to receive your delivery. Orders placed after 4 p.m. Saturday will be delivered the following Tuesday.
How much is delivery?
Pricing Breakdown 0-5km = $8/ 5-30 km = $10/ 30-60 km = $15. Please note these prices are not inclusive of taxes or any other fees (ex: labels)
What is the delivery range?
The delivery range is 25 km radius around The Big Carrot Danforth Community Market. Please enter your postal code at checkout to see if you apply for delivery.
Can I request a specific delivery time?
Unfortunately, no.
How do I change my delivery day?
Email shop@thebigcarrot.ca and have your order # available. Adjustments are not guaranteed.

Products and Orders

Refundable Credit Card Hold For Weighted Products
Since we can only determine the actual price of weighted items after assembling, weighing and packing them at the store, we hold a certain amount from you to account for any differences/variances in weight from what was ordered by you versus the actual, precise weight of that item, and refund the balance back to your account/card. *Weighted Items = Meat, Produce, Bulk & Grocery*
Are substitutions permitted?
Yes. We can offer substitutions. Please add any substitutions on the “View your Cart” page. Under subtotal, on the right side, click “Add a note to your order.” We will call you if anything you’ve ordered is out of stock and ask if you’d like to substitute for another product.
Can you reorder past orders?
Yes, you can reorder your past orders. Sign in to your account using the account icon https://shop.thebigcarrot.ca/account/login. From there, all your past orders appear. On the left-hand side click "Reorder". You can either add the past order to your cart and continue shopping or reorder and checkout. If there are changes you'd like to make to your past order simply change the quantity and or add notes
Can you order items that aren’t on the website yet?
Yes. You can order items that aren’t on our website yet. Please add any items you’d like to order that we do not currently have online on the “View your Cart” page. Under subtotal, on the right hand side, click “Add a note to your order.” Please add as much information as you can. For example, the name of the product, size, flavour, quantity, etc. You will then be contacted via email by one of our staff to make the changes to your order. A new receipt will be issued and payment information will need to be verified.
Can you change your order after it has been placed?
Yes. You can email shop@thebigcarrot.ca and request changes. Please use the same email your order was placed from and include your order #. Please be aware last minute changes are not guaranteed. The same 4:00 p.m. cut off applies.
Can I cancel my order?
We require 24 hours notice for all cancelations. If a 24 hour notice is not provided, a 25.00 cancelation fee will be charged.
How long does it take to see your refund?
It can take between 7-10 business days before your refund is reflected on your credit card.
How will I know when my order is received?
You will receive an email when your order is received and an email when it has been packed.
What happens if I do not pick up my order?
If an order is not collected within the day and timeframe indicated on your order confirmation, you will be charged in full for your order, and a $25.00 restocking fee will apply.
When do I get charged?
You will be charged once we have fulfilled your order. If you require adjustments you will need to be available for approval the day before your order is expected.
Is there a minimum order?
Minimum orders only apply when there are special events, promotions and sales.
How fresh will my delivery items be?
All products for In-store pickup and Delivery are stored in refrigerators or freezers until they are enroute to you. Frozen items are bagged separately and are kept in insulated freezer bags with ice packs until delivered and or picked-up.
Can I add items to my deliveries?
You can email shop@thebigcarrot for additions. The 4:00 p.m. cut off still applies. Last minute changes are not guaranteed.
Why aren’t all your in-store products online?
Since the launch of our Online Market in October, we have been working hard to add new items. daily. Be sure to check in regularly for new product additions.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. You may cancel your order up to 24 hours after placing your order. If you cancel after 24 hours a $25.00 charge will apply.
How do I sign into my account?
Click the person icon on the top of the screen. Enter your email and password to sign in or create a new account.
How do I claim my status card exemption to shop online?
Please email us at shop@thebigcarrot.ca to discuss further. We'd be happy to apply your status card exemption to your customer profile when approved.

Gift Cards

Do you have Gift Cards?
Yes, we do have E-Gift cards. We sell online gift cards that are redeemable only on our Online Market and not in-store. We sell our Gift Cards in increments of $25, $50, $75 and $100.
How does the Gift Cards process work?
You will receive an email confirming your Gift Card Order. A 2nd email will come with the Gift Card code. You can then either enter the Gift Card code at checkout or if you bought the Gift Card for someone else you will forward them the email with the code.
